About the Savings Race

Wright-Patt Credit Union’s Savings Race 3nd Edition is an eight month financial marathon racing five families as they undergo a financial transformation. At the beginning of the Race in October, each family will be given savings and debt reduction goals to achieve by the end of the Race and will begin working with a team of Wright-Patt Credit Union coaches to develop strategies for achieving these goals. The coaches will work with their families throughout the Race to provide support, encouragement, and accountability as the families try to change the way they save forever. The Savings Race families’ journeys will be followed on WDTN Channel 2 News on Tuesdays at 5:30 PM and Saturdays at 11:00 PM and here on savingsrace.com. Collectively, the ten families who participated in Wright-Patt Credit Union's first two Savings Races improved their net worth by more than $250,000 - that's right, over a quarter of a million dollars - changing their lives forever!

You Can Help Determine the Savings Race Winner
You have a voice in helping determine the winner! By registering to be a member of the Savings Race Fan Club, you can vote once a day throughout the Race for the family you believe deserves to win the $10,000 grand prize. It's your chance to give your favorite family an extra boost in their race by letting them know you are rooting them on. Don’t forget to come back every day to vote and keep their “morale tanks” full. It’s a long eight months – they need your boost! You can track each family’s progress to see how they are doing with their own savings and debt reduction goals, as well as how they are doing against the other four families. Public voting results will account for a portion of the families’ final scores. Their success in meeting or exceeding their savings and debt reduction goals will weigh heavily in the final results. The Savings Race grand prize winner will receive $10,000. All runner-up families who complete the Race will receive $2,000.
